Robert G. Birt, Jr. was born and reared in Jacksonville, FL. Winda “Wendy” Birt, his beautiful wife, is a Native Mississippian. The two have been married for the past 20 years. They have one daughter, Octavia who is in her 2nd year of college. Currently, Rob ministers in Toledo, OH at the Glass City congregation of the Church of Christ. He served as minister of the Louisa Street Church of Christ in New Orleans, LA for eight years prior to relocating to Toledo.
Rob is a graduate of Southwestern Christian College. He furthered his education at the Harding Graduate School of Religion, and Alabama Graduate School of Religion. In the years of 1985, 1987, and 1988 he was awarded the Outstanding Young Man of America Award.
Wendy has spent the last 20 plus years working with women and children in the fields of Prevention, Intervention, and Advocacy. In addition to her work in the secular world she works in various ministries within the church. She is Co-Director of G.I.R.L.S. (God’s Initiative Realized for Life Service), an abstinence based program for girls 12-18 years.
Robert believes in ministry and the development of spiritual gifts in the young and older members of the Lord’s body. One of his favorite scriptures is Romans 12:1-2. The words that he lives by are: “Never look down on a man unless you’re looking down to lift him up”!
Winda believes anything that I have, anything I have accomplished and will accomplish is by God’s grace. For I know “it is not about me, it’s all about God”.
